Monte-Carlo

In Monaco, Chapelet Studio has led more than six urban projects since 2015. The Rainier III seawall is one of them: a landscaped resting area furnished with Emme benches, designed to blend into the seafront and welcome walkers.

More than six projects in the Principality

The studio carried out the complete redesign of the port of Fontvieille, the redevelopment of Sainte-Dévote and of Rue du Portier, and then the Rainier III seawall. For Rue du Portier, it designed the Blade bench, in concrete, whose base stops ram-raiding vehicles. Each project answers a precise brief, in a place where public space is scarce and highly demanding.

The port of Fontvieille

At the port of Fontvieille, the studio furnished the quays with Wave benches and Aveo planters, all made of hypergranite, an innovative material made of resin and quartz.

The Rainier III seawall

On the seawall, the Emme benches accompany the promenade without overpowering it. Their clean lines echo the sea and the planting, and offer comfortable seating facing the view.

Sustainable design

Each of the studio's projects in Monaco reflects the same commitment: durable materials, controlled manufacturing and thoughtful design that enhance the Principality's public spaces.

Lab23 presented the Emme bench in the Italian magazine Architettura del Paesaggio (issue 25). In 2013, ArchiExpo's e-magazine featured its one-piece version in its Marseille special issue. In 2023, the architecture magazine Archistorm (issue 121) published the Emme benches on the Rainier III seawall.
