Urban furniture design

Since 2008, Chapelet Studio has designed urban furniture for leading manufacturers such as Lab23, MyWay and iGuzzini: benches, planters, bins, barriers, shelters and pergolas. Every product starts from a precise brief and a simple line drawn in a single pencil stroke. The studio looks for the best balance between quality, minimalism and simple manufacturing, for durable products that sell. Its designs furnish the Jeddah Corniche, the port of Fontvieille in Monaco, Place de la Nation in Paris and the iGuzzini headquarters in Barcelona.

Public benches and seating

UHPC concrete, hypergranite, laser-cut steel or wood: each bench has its own material and inspiration. Blade is inspired by cars, Wing by an aircraft wing, Wave and Vague by the sea, Zadig by origami and Tila by the architectural cantilever. Variations, an inclusive C-shaped bench, welcomes people with reduced mobility at its heart, on Place de la Nation in Paris.

Urban planters

Bringing greenery into the city, on their own or combined with benches: Lid, the archetypal planter in hypergranite and wood; Fifty, half bench, half planter; Crossed, in laser-cut steel; S-Combo, bench and planter in one.

Bins, barriers and bollards

Cleanliness and safety with a graphic design: the Crossed bin, selected in Marrakech through a public tender; the 45 barrier with its bars inclined at 45°; the Gradient barrier, inspired by kinetic architecture.

Shelters and pergolas

The Bold bus shelter, in extruded aluminium and toughened glass, and the Kiosk pergola, designed as a shared, connected space in the city.

Made in Italy, built to last

Most of these products are made in Italy by Lab23. The studio uses recycled materials and FSC-certified wood wherever possible. See also our projects.
