Lid.
Lid is a range of urban planters designed by Stéphane Chapelet for Lab23®. It is the archetypal planter: inspired by indoor planters, it was developed as urban furniture. Made for streets and squares, it also suits hotels, restaurants and any building open to the public.
The archetypal planter
Its line is simple, clean and timeless. Its crisp volumes leave room for the plants and fit a contemporary setting as well as a more classic one.
White hypergranite and a wooden lid
The contrast between its white hypergranite body and the wood on top gives Lid a very contemporary touch. Each planter is topped with a wooden lid: that detail inspired its name.
Three sizes to compose with
Lid comes in three sizes. The tall versions are slender and elegant. The low version, by contrast, gives a strong sense of stability. Combined, they create compositions that can be rearranged: rows along a street, clusters on a square or green islands at an entrance.
A large volume of soil
Lid planters hold a large volume of soil, so any type of plant can grow in them.
Lab23, an Italian manufacturer, makes street furniture in Italy from steel, Corten, wood and Hypergranite. It shows the studio's designs alongside those of Zaha Hadid, at Milan's Fuorisalone and in the specialist press.
This model belongs to Lab23's HyperGranit collection, presented in 2016 in the Italian magazine L'Arca International (issue 128).
