Vague
Vague is an urban furniture bench designed by Stéphane Chapelet for Lab23®. As its name suggests (vague is French for wave), it is inspired by a wave. It can be combined, and works on its own or as a retaining wall.
The sea, a strong inspiration
The wave is a strong inspiration for the studio, based by the sea in the south of France. The undulating line of the Vague bench evokes the movement of the sea, like that of the Wave bench.
Concrete, visually light
Vague is made of concrete, but its clean line makes it visually light.
On its own or as a retaining wall
Its distinctive feature: it can be used on its own, as a bench, or as a retaining wall with planting along its edge. It then holds back the soil of a slope or a planted bed while serving as a seat.
A bench to combine
Vague can be combined into many seating configurations in parks, on promenades and in squares.
Made in Italy
Vague is made in Italy by Lab23®.
Lab23, an Italian manufacturer, makes street furniture in Italy from steel, Corten, wood and Hypergranite. It shows the studio's designs alongside those of Zaha Hadid, at Milan's Fuorisalone and in the specialist press.
